Suzhou (simplified Chinese: 苏州; traditional Chinese: 蘇州; pinyin: Sūzhōu;
ancient name: 吳; Suzhou dialect: [səu][tsøʏ]) is a city on the lower reaches of
the Yangtze River(長江) and on the shores of Lake Taihu(太湖) in the
province of Jiangsu(江蘇), China.

Suzhou has also been an important centre for China's silk industry and
continues to hold that prominent position today.
